Hi,
My Newton is telling me that my 24 Mb Pretec card is unformnted and is write protected, it is neither.
Here is the storey.
I was reading NewtonTalk on my up 2.1k Newton and wanted to reply to a post. I highlited the section and selected reply. the Newton took a while then come back saying there is not enough memory to Complete the operation: Cancel or Restart. I conceded And whent on with my business.
Later as I was about to send some mail I noticed my aborted Newton Talk reply marked pending. I opened it and noticed that the Newton was attempting to quote the entire Newton Talk digest, and not just the highlighted segment as it should have. I marked the item and selectio delete, ouch, I should not have. I got the same out of memory message and I had to cancel or restart; I restated.
As the Newton restated and began to activate the card packages I got an error that package loader is unloadable and Net Hopper is un loadable !!!
The Newton continued to load and when the backdrop showed it hanged.
I again did a soft reset. This time the card was completely corrupt and I get the message that "the unformated card is write potected, please un lock and formate"
Now what to do, the card is not protected but the Newton insist it is. I want to reformat the card, but how.
