Has anyone ever had a PC card slot fail in their precious Newton?

I have a UMP2K with about three months daily use on it. After working
perfectly for three months, it seems that no card I put into the
upper slot will work in that slot. The lower slot works fine. Anyone
have any ideas what I might do? Thanks.
