I'd love a Blackberry, but I cannot afford the device or the
service. 8(

I would really like something portable that can do email, web, and is
a great PIM. The Newton is almost there. But, I have too many
problems getting everything to work without a hitch; seems like I am
always troubleshooting something with it and that has rendered it
useless for critical things. For instance I'd like to have it
scheduled to download my email every morning at 6 so i can read it
first thing in the morning. But, i often wake up to find that it
simply didn't happen, or it happened and choked on an email and froze
or crashed or something. Dates syncing doesn't really work with my
computer (Powerbook running Tiger) and Names syncing is a problem
too. Syncing wouldn't be a problem if the Newton could replace my
computer, but it's not quite that good either.

The new LifeDrive and Nokia devices that I have seen are coming
closer to what I need, so I hope this is the beginning of a trend.
