[NTLK] Some diverse questions

Hi everybody. I just introduced a friend to Newton; I gave her an MP120
that I wasn't using. She's absolutely not a technophile, and I was a little
unsure of how she'd react to it. Well, she couldn't put it down! For 3
straight hours she was tinkering with it, entering names, setting dates, the
whole thing. Finally, she exclaimed "Its so friendly!" with a big smile.
And the smile she had every time she saw the 'trash' animation, was
priceless. I think she was making new notes, just to delete them, for a
little while.

Anyhow, the questions.

1: I have an MP2100, and her MP120 is running OS 2.0. I have tried to beam
her some packages, and it always fails. I've tried small packages, about
15-20k, and with large packages, about 80k. It always gets about halfway
through then it fails with an error message. However, I was able to beam
names without any difficulty at all. I read the FAQ's hardware and OS
sections but didn't see anything about IR other than the notes about 1.x
devices using ASK only, and 2.x using both formats. So is this normal?
Shouldn't a 2.0 and 2.1 device be able to beam back and forth Ok?

2: Since I can't at the moment beam packages to her, is there a way to
'Copy' a package to a card? Instead of 'Move'? Then if I have something
she wants, I would like to pop her card in my MP2100, 'Copy' the package
onto it, then give the card back to her.

3: I recently got a newton keyboard, and finaly tried using my SER001.
I've had the SER001 since about when they first became available, but this
is the first time I've tried using a keyboard with it. It doesn't work.
The keyboard works fine through the dongle, though. I tried turning the
Newt off and on. I seem to recall reading about someone else having a
similar situation, but couldn't find anything in the archives. Is there
something I have to do differently, or something I should be looking at? I
have checked the SER001 and it seems to be in good order.

Thanks alot! When my friend finaly gets email, I'm going to suggest she
join the list too, and see what a great community this is!
