    Just a shot in the dark, but what sort of distance did you have between
the Newts? I found that for heavy duty beaming between a 2100 and a 130
(pretty much the same as a 120) I got the best transfer with the machines
sitting on a solid surface (dark coloured if possible) about 20-30 cm apart.
I've found beaming is pretty solid with small items _ name cards and the
like _ but seems to get fragile with larger items.

    On the SER001/keyboard problem. Have you tried using the serial port for
anything else (printing, connect to computer) to test it out?
