Re: NTLK Outlook Synchronizing (again!)

hmmm, I don't get it! I don't synch. I never synched
and I never needed to synch. I don't use a PIM on my
computer (problem...which computer? the three I have
at home, or the three I use at work?)And with
personal device, I never understood the need to synch!
Think of it. Why duplicate you calander onto your
desktop? What can it do that your Newton can't? Now, I
admit, sometimes I do wish I had my names in my
desktop computer, and for the most part, I do (a
rather kludged SLOUP export and reassemble effort)But
there is nothing that a PIM can do for me that my Newt
can't do easier and more intuitivly! The only reason I
ever connect my Newt to my PC is to load packages and
to make a backup (but I usually use cards for that
anyway)
I'm a strong believer in not duplicating work. A
collegue came to me the other day and asked me what
scheduling program I used...(i dunno why, I'm not all
that punctual) I pulled out my Newt and he looked at
me and simply said "oh" and sent back to his office.
The Newt is a unique device. It can exist on it's own
with little or no interaction with any other machine.
Infact, after I loaded up my Newt with the stuff I
wanted, I didn't connect it to my PC for 3 years!
So, quite honestly, if you are using some kind of
(window) device like those CEs where they can't live
without a connection to a PC, or some kinda of wannabe
palm computing device like any of the palms, then you
are destined to be forever tied to your desktop
machine...but with the newt, you don't need to!
