I have found this is usually due to my having NCU running at the same time I
launch OutLink, which then automatically changes the selected Com Port. The
Com Port remains changed on the next launch, so when you quit NCU (or any
other app that claimed Com Port 1), you have to go into OutLink's prefs and
change the Com Port back to 1 (or to wherever you happen to have the cable
attached). Note that if you do not quit and restart OutLink, you will not
even be presented the choice of the occupied Comm Port in the drop-down.
I hope that was confusing enough... ;-)
