I recall seeing an Apple Patent Application for a trackpad that would have also allowed
pen-based input (for digital signatures, for example), as well.

I find it difficult to believe that the idea of eliminating the keyboard is a practical one for a
PowerBook; but it would sure make sense in something smaller, perhaps closer in size to a
PDA. of course, I don't need to tell that to anyone *here.*

(It'll be interesting to see if recognition has been improved significantly, and what sort of
additional work has been done in the process of bringing it over to Mac OS X...)
