Actually, there is a system font changing package called "Gothic Everywhere" - http://www.saryo.org/basuke/gew.html - English Translation of the Japanese page can be obtained by Google on the search term "Gothic Everywhere". This package is from one of our Japanese brethren (Basuke) and it works pretty well, although not very well-known. There is a huge treasure-trove of interesting and useful Newton software from Japan, but the language barrier tends to get in the way.

This allows you to change a number of system-level fonts to different fonts, sizes, and styles...great for the aging eyes.
