Wow, sensational! There are two brilliant new books available for free,
check that out:

1. Blind Shriek (SF/Fantasy)

Richard Kadrey is one of the original guard of cyberpunk authors; his
Metrophage is a classic of the genre. He's just posted the full text of
his
latest novel, Blind Shrike, to the web as a free PDF download (CCL):
http://www.infinitematrix.net/stories/novels/blindshrike.html .

2. Democratizing Innovation (nonfiction: sociology/economy)

Eric von Hippel's Democratizing Innovation is an interesting book about
the
way that "lead users" are making significant contributions to the
development of products and services. Von Hippel is a professor of
management of innovation and entrepreneurship, at MIT's Sloan School of
Management, and this is where you find his book:
http://web.mit.edu/evhippel/www/books.htm .

Hey all, I challenge you to turn these books into Newton ebooks (NOT
paperbacks) with pagebreaks before new chapters, table of contents, 12
pt Geneva font and all illustrations (if there are any) in 12-grayscale
100 dpi. Can't do every new CCL title ourselves, Matt-the-K. and I, can
we? So why don't you do something nice this week and make a book. It
actually might be fun if you don't watch it, and *could* well become
addictive...

So, pls. help making this brandnew SF and this brilliant non-fiction
book available to your fellow Newtonians. Coz we can't really handle
all of 'em.

Thank you.

DJV.

P.S.: Those books are recommended and endorsed by Boingboing.net, so
it's not just some cooky stuff that I'm coming up with, it's good stuff
and recognized as such. And now git to it already!
