I've lost two--one was stolen from my shopping buggy, and the second I

returned it, even though my name and phone number and address are
clearly marked on it. So, yes, these things will be taken and kept if
found. The sad part is that most people, upon seeing them, see "whoa!
techno stuff--worth money..." and grab it. Probably only later do they
learn that they are not so easy to sell (at least here in Poland). I
fear that both of mine ended up in the trash in the end. What with the
password protection and, in the one case, weird batteries... So,
protect your Newton with your life! ;-)
