Hi all,

I'm having some trouble, well a lot of trouble, getting my Newt' 2100=20
to do The Internet Thing=99 via its 3Com Ethernet Card - namely,=20
connecting to the actual website.

My gateway machine runs MacOSX sharing a regular dialup connection=20
using 10.2's Internet Sharing feature (read: DHCP). All the other=20
computers I own have no problems connecting this way and getting online.

With a DHCP-enabled connection profile, fetching a URL in LunaSuite=20
Ranger enables NIE and connects ok to the Gateway host (IP address=20
192.168.2.4 briefly pops up, the Gateway IP is 198.168.2.1 so that's=20
all ok) then sits for as long as I let it saying "Resolving=20
"proxy.iprimus.com.au" or "Resolving www".... ie: whatever the URL is=20
if I switch off the use Proxy setting.

Setting a manual IP and gateway address results in the same thing.

Despite this, I can still fetch mail via InOut Box and Eudora. The 'Net=20=

connection worked perfectly well via the modem connection, using the=20
proxy setting (not necessarily needed for my ISP, I don't use it on my=20=

Macs).

Any ideas? The card is a 3Com 3C589D.

Cheers, Ben.
