it seems like you are having a very weird problem here Chris. this
normally "just works" out of the box. i can't think what the problem
might be, but since you have killed all your data anyway, perhaps it
would pay to play with the installation order of the packages? this
is totally clutching at straws, but that's about all that is left :-(
