I had similar problems with SS, but at the time of my trial with BB+. I
remember that it had to do with the prefs of SS. The program seems to
XOR a bit only and sometimes, if any other program does auto shut off
things too, interference causes this malfunction. I believe that I
deleted the storage of SS (if there was any) or BB+ or simply changed
all auto-off settings forth and back. Finally I deleted SS because DB
serves me better with its "light on at button bar tap". The deep sleep
function of SS is nice and another rarely used feature of the Newton,
but probably rather interfering than helping to save current.
