Does your Newton have OS 1.3? If so, the upgrade to 2.0 is a ROM
(hardware) upgrade, not a software update - just installing one of the
System Updates for 2.0 doesn't do it; that's an upgrade for AFTER you
have the 2.0 ROMS.
I'm afraid you're probably out of luck.

Please provide more detail about what you mean. What makes you think
this? tell us what you're seeing on the memory display you're looking at
to come to this conclusion - give ALL the figures.

Not all the Newton's memory is available for your use; some is used by
the OS (a lot, actually). Describing what you're seeing might help.
