Quite a number of Emates are beginning to show this symptom. Perhaps their batteries are all at the end of their lives.

Use a torx screwdriver and remove the battery door. Unplug the battery and leave the emate without any power for a few hours. Plug in the AC adaptor and the unit should startup. You can then reattach the battery and let it charge.

Avoid totally draining the battery or it wíll go into a deep sleep again. If a fully charged unit discharges abnormally fast, time to change batteries. According to Robert, it's not a very difficult procedure.
