Open the TCP/IP control panel
Go to the Edit Menu, and Select User Mode
Select Administrator
Click on the Options button that is now on the bottom right side of the
TCP/IP control panel window
Make sure "Load only when needed" is checked
Close TCP/IP, saving changes.
Otherwise, the Mac tries to initiate TCP/IP right when it hits the desktop.
