Well, Wordnewt was created because the developer was not happy with Lextionary. Wordnewt is full screen on an MP2K. If Macintalk is installed, it will allow you to pronounce the Word. I find the results more comprehensive (I'll include a sample). It allows you to post result to Notes.

Here is a sample.

WordNewt looked up "a" for you on Sun, 27 Feb 2000
Noun.
 - a type_A group_A • the blood group whose red cells carry the a antigen
 - angstrom angstrom unit • a metric unit of length equal to one ten billionth of a meter (or 0.0001 micron); used to specify wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation
 - vitamin_A antiophthalmic factor axerophthol • any of several fat-soluble vitamins essential for normal vision; prevents night blindness or inflammation or dryness of the eyes
 - ampere amp • the basic unit of electric current adopted under the system international d'Unites; "a typical household circuit carries 15 to 50 amps"

Great, so what's the catch? Well, for starters, it is about 8 MB (double Lex). It will also possibly give you more -10061 errors. But still, if you use the dictionary a lot, it's well worth it.

Oh, it also has a minimize button that will show a small floating pallette with 2 icons, magnifying glass (search) and a speaker (speaktext).

I just wrote a mail to the developer Eureka who was also on this list, but got no reply from him yet. His web site is no longer there. However there is a mirror site with a slightly earlier version.

WordNewt mirror site at EasySpace

Eureka was planning on reducing the pkg size when he was caught busy by an important project. Then he disappeared?:-\

Anyone here know how to reach Eureka?
