Hi Mark,

As a alternative, you can buy this one: http://www.backlight4you.com/EL-Panels/Backlight-Kits/Replacement-Backlight-for-MessagePad-2000-2100::753.html

It is EL-panel is a bit brighter (15 cd/m2 instead of 6.5 cd/m2 in original one) and colour is a little less green, but the biggest difference is minimum 3000 hours lifetime instead of 400 hours offered by original one.
