RIP, Steve. Indeed, he was one of the true game-changers. He stayed out of politics, didn't throw Apple's weight around to seize land in Cupertino for their new HQ via eminent domain, they way some big-boxes and manufacturing firms do (think 'Poletown' and 'Kelo.') He and Apple were often the only source of can-do, good news in post-9/11 America. He will be missed, on many levels.

We all knew it would happen. Unfortunately it did, yesterday. Steve Jobs passed away.

No matter what he did or did not do, should have done, could have done for the lost child, the "Newton", he was a brilliant man with a vision. I saw him live an in person when the iPhone was first introduced - a day at Moscone Center in SF I will not forget. I wish his family the best.

Sniff,

- Matthias
