The Newton concept is perfect, if you limit it to what the first Newton commercials laid it out to be - "Newton is ..."
It's the counterpart of your Moleskin notebook, or your paper organizer, enhanced with email, phone and fax capabilities (which at office I found extremely helpful).
But if you want speed, working on longer documents, the keyboard has an advantage. That's why typewriters revolutionized office-work all over the world. And think of the creative writer and his mechanical typewriter: that's almost an archetype.
