My Story:

I bought my OMP right after it was released in the US. I always wanted
a machine with lasting battery that I could use to develop software
while on the road/ Laptops back then were much too heavy and annoying.
I had great plans for software development, maybe even to make some
additional money. When Apple released NTK at a price that was
completely out of reach for me at that time, I dumped the Newton for a
Palm - only to learn that the Palm SDK would be commercial too.

I liked the size of the Palm, but dislike pretty much everything else
about it. I tried WindowsCE, but it seems to get even worse with
every incarnation. The first somewht useful PDA is now my iPhone, but
guess what, I can still not program on the road. At least the SDK is
kind of free.

HOW I USE MY NEWTON:

My Newtons are used to learn about NewtonOS with the goal of getting a
native clone working on any platform that support C++ development. An
OS clone would transform clumsy WindowsMobile PDAs into a useful life
management platform with great HWR and a good software base.
