Re: [NTLK] MP2000 and NPDS

I ran NPDS on my 2000 upgraded and it seemed good. It still crashed but only
every other day and the watcher brought it right back up. But I take my 2000
everywhere I go so my NPDS was down more than it was up. I also have an
Emate that I use for development so a lot of the time it is just sitting
there. So I figured hey, what a great idea, use the Emate. Like you I only
set up noteserver and dateserver. In the beginning I had issues with
watcher, it would reset the Emate but then try to connect before my Ethernet
card was recognized. So I stopped using the watcher. But even so, my Emate
will only server a few pages and then crash. I have it down presently as I'm
working on Ladle again.

I also know a couple of the regular NPDS users have been having more crashes
of late and there is some investigating going on. You might want to join the
NPDS Email group. To subscribe, send an email to

Does anyone have any experience running NPDS on an unupgraded MP2000?
I'm trying it and NPDS will serve up a few pages, then crash. The
watcher will reset the server but with my 3com 3C589D card, often
times it will not reconnect the ethernet connection (a problem with
my NIE setup and that card, not NPDS).

I'm only trying to run the dateserver and the notesever, to keep
things to a minimum, and the watcher and the tracker client. I
suspect running out of heap is the problem, but I'm interested to
hear if someone else has experience with a more stable setup, or if
they can direct me to some info that will help.

Thanks.
