I'm not entirely sure that it's viable. The Newton OS is stored in a
Read Only Memory chip, so you'd have to port and trim Linux down to
fit on a compact flash card of some type. Most small linux distros
I've seen don't really fit on a 4-32mb memory card (many of them
require 200mb or more), sadly. If you are wanting a linux device, it
may be more sane to go for a used Zaurus or an eeePC.
