As long as you don't mind a slight bulge in your Newt, installing the ser-001 is as easy as opening your newt (yeah right...like that's easy...) and plugging something into a socket.
As for the 220MHz upgrade? I don't know if that company is still selling it, but it requires soldering skills and working with tiny components...If you just want to swap your crystal with a faster one, you can check out my pages on the at:

Does anyone have any comment on the quality, availability (pref. in
the UK) and advisability of the 220MHz upgrade? Does it increase
memory/heap also?

Also is there anyone in the UK doing 2000-2100 upgrades?

And how easy is it for the non IT literate to add PCB man's serial
card? Can the 220MHz and SER-001 reside together?

In short, what are my (preferably local) options to 'Pimp My Newt?!!!

Thanks all
