[NTLK] Faulty eMate (flashing screen)

I have an eMate that has a problem. When you plug it in, instead of
booting, it just sits there and flashes (the backlight, that is) in a
pattern; flash, flash, pause, flash, flash, pause, and so on. I have
heared that this can be caused by the RAM being bad, but there is no
Upgrade installed. Does this mean the on-board RAM is no good?
