I will reply separately tonight when I get home to look at my full
configuration for Joel, but regarding the NCU install - I had no real
problems. I had seen a note somewhere warning about a spinning beach ball
delay - and it took several minutes - but when it came back to life, it
installed just fine. I think perhaps it scans for previous Newton files,
which maybe takes awhile, since a Mac OS X boot volume has a LOT of files,
and it may do it in a less than efficient manner? This may explain why
it's quicker on a non OS X volume - 50,000 less files to scan?!

In any event, aside from that delay, no problem accessing prefs - and like
I mentioned, no problem syncing AFTER a reboot (not of classic, an actual
restart).
