I tend to agree that bats most likely will hear it. I would suggest
getting a red flashlight that staps on to your head. Then you can use
your Newt without needing to hold a flashlight and keep your eyes
dark-adapted. I did this with my 120 for a long time (just not red)
before I upgraded to a 130. As a side benifit the batteries in your
Newt will last much longer using this method.
