Umm - sorry to barge in like this, but the largest screen apple
sells, the HUGE 30 inch cinema display, does NOT require multiple
video cards to drive it. It DOES however need a video card whose DVI
port supports 2 full data channels (aka Dual Link DVI). This is part
of the cable / connector specification for DVI ports, but not every
video card supports more than one channel, and up until now most
consumer monitors didn't require it.

Most of the video cards shipping for the current crop of G5 towers,
the higher end video cards for the previous generation of G5's, and
the video chip-sets on the latest round of apple laptops all support
this. Heck, some of the top of the line graphics cards can support
TWO of these 30 inch beasts on their own. The "dual link" thing
doesn't mean two graphics cards, or even two dvi cables, just a
specific feature only found on newer graphics cards.
