[NTLK] Newt on HGH

Ah, that thing is way over-rated, in my opinion. Looks like a glorified Nintendo DS.

I agree that for the money, a lower-end or even used laptop is the way to go. Juggling a Newton, an older IBM 600X ThinkPad, and a Toshiba e-310, takes care of my computing needs just fine. Come to think of it, you could buy all three of the portable computing devices I use for the $849 asking price of the Pepper, and you'd STILL have a few dollars of walking around money. I'm not cheap, just poor.

If you're REALLY looking for a handheld device for gaming, skip the PSP and DS. Here's the one you want:

Heh, heh... Actually, the backlit color screen ain't bad. Too bad there aren't a few side-scroller shoot-em-up games for the Newton platform.

Warmest regards,

Matt the K.

It is nice, but personally I would rather spend the over $800 on a real
laptop that has a full keyboard handy and wouldn't weigh much more and
have a bigger screen besides (not to mention larger HD, memory, and more
capabilities). Again it is nice, but I tend to think it is a bit
pricey when you can't load regular software on it (by the looks anyway).
  And has other limitations.

I do wonder how long the battery lasts though. They don't mention that.
Since it has a HD, I suspect it won't last past say 4 or 5 hours, if
that. Especially if you do much wireless surfing.
