Everyone:

Got forwarded the thread on title of Defying Gravity. Hope this sheds
some light on the subject:

======

I'm of the mind that it was a misprint as well. I wrote "for those in
the know" more as an inside joke for those who actually own the book
and have noticed the misspelling on the spine title. In fact, people
who own the book often don't realize that the title has been
misspelled, and they give me quizzical looks when I say "You mean
'Graviiiiity'?" Then, I show them the spine, and we all share hearty
laughs :)

I bought the book when it first came out, and it contains the
misspelling. I am not sure if they ever did a second print run and
corrected it, but I doubt it.

Doug Menuez last year donated his photographs from this time period to
the archives at Stanford University. I haven't visited the library
where the are stored yet, but I'm sure that one could go there to view
these photos -- perhaps they are more that weren't published from the
Newton days!
