That has hapened to me. I solved it, but I don't know how. I thought
I knew (although it made no sense to me), but then it happened again,
and the 'fix' did not work. And I solved it again, but still don't
know how.....
I use Classic under Panther (10.3.3), both wireless and ethernet
connections. When the connection suddenly did not work, I used the
ethernet connection and all was well. Then, next time, I used the
wireless connestion - and it worked. Sometimes I can only initiate
'things' from the Newtons side. Sometimes it works fine alst starting
from the Mac side......

So this is not helpful at all..... I wonder if others have similar
on/off experiences?

I'm not sure I get it. Are you backing up (internal) TO the card?
Or are you backing up the card-contents itself? Without NCU? Using
what application?
