Mono. There's only three pins on the interconnect port that deal with
audio: auxAudIn, AGnd, and auxAudOut. To use a stereo headset, you'll
have to short the jack's ring and tip connections together to get sound
to both ears, else you'll only end up with audio in the left ear. Line
level provides a 1W output, so you'll need some signal attenuation
between the port and the jack.

I'd have thought anyone looking at building a port replicator/dock (this
IS what we were discussing, isn't it?) would have found that and read it
