[NTLK] Help with WaveLAN + AppleTalk + netatalk printing on Linux

I know that there are a few people on the list who are printing from their
Newtons via netatalk on a Linux box to another printer... I'd like to pick
your brains if I might :) This is my setup:

-Newton with 802.11b card (Compaq WL100), registered driver
-Linksys WRT54G wireless router, on the company internal net
-Linux box connected directly (wired) to the wireless router:
        -Mandrake 9.2
-prints to two printers via Network using CUPS (works fine)
-running netatalk configured to share both of said printers

The BEFR54G has no problems bridging AppleTalk, as I can search for printers
on the Newton and see the two printers defined by netatalk.

When I send the print job though, the "Printing Page 1" dialog comes up on the
Newton, but never progresses. After a while the Newton will time out with a
"connection lost" error. The netatalk logs show the Newton connecting, but
not much else.

My /etc/netatalk/papd.conf looks like this:

brother:\
         :pr=DevBrother:op=atalk:\
         :pd=/tmp/hplj5p_1.ppd:

hpcolor:\
         :pr=hp_cl_4500_ps:op=atalk:\
         :pd=/tmp/HP_Color_LaserJet_4500.ppd:

And /etc/printcap is like this (automatically generated by CUPS):

DevBrother|BROTHER HL-1270N:rm=dyn237.maptuit.com:rp=DevBrother:
hp_cl_4500_ps|hp_cl_4500_ps:rm=dyn237.maptuit.com:rp=hp_cl_4500_ps:

Any Linux folks have any ideas? I'm so close I can feel it...
