I was given a Personal LaserWriter NT for the price of a reman toner cartridge. ("If you can get it to print all right, then you can it's yours.") It's middle of the randge in numbers of copies, and it works like a charm.

Several months ago I bought a LaserWriter II NT for $3.50 at an AmVets store (like Goodwill or Salvation Army). It was low mileage and I had to replace a $5.00 part so the paper would feed correctly. It, too works great, and the cartridge that came with it is still good, so I don't have to replace that one anytime soon. What a behemoth, though!!

Their only shortcoming is that they are Postscript I engines and won't work under OS X that I know of. :-(
