Ronan,
I tried and tried to connect my Newton 2100 to my Mac with a crossover
cable. Finally, it became so much of a pain that I bought a hub
(originally). Now I have a high speed switch. You can get these things CHEAP
and it will really make your life so much easier. Highly recommended!

We trained hard- but it seemed that every time we began to form up into
teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to
meet any new situation by reorganizing- and a wonderful method it can be for
creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency,
and demoralization.
