I just looked it up. Mac OS X does support legacy AppleTalk (without the
TCP/IP protocol). Is the Newton connecting over Ethernet? AirPort?
Serial with a USB adapter? Make sure AppleTalk is enabled under whatever
physical means you will be using, as AppleTalk can be present on only
one at a time.
