I don't believe any of the MessagePads ever had a built in modem. I do
however, seem to remember someone fooling around with software that would
perform as a hardware modem. But that was only for the MP2K models since it
would require a chassis modification for an RJ-11 jack somewhere and these
units had real estate to do so.
