I have had "shell" access to my OSX box from PT100 for years.

Shell access is old school text based command line (typed commands)
computer access.

Using ssh outbound after telnetting is a little sketchy but if your
dialing up it's not that big a deal. If your connecting over the
network, it would destroy the security that ssh provides, by allowing
sniffers to see your inbound SSH password in plain text (it has to get
from your terminal to the box).

Anyhow, I don't see this as a particularly novel idea.
