I already contacted the original programmer. I asked him if he would
be interested in opening up the code to the Newton Community. He said
that the hardware and software need each other to work. He will think
about it.
His name is Lou and I got his email from the old shot logger website.
Here are part of the emails:

Hi Karl,

I would be interested except for one problem: the Shot Logger software
will not even launch without a special PC card installed...regrettably,
there is no more of the Shot Logger hardware available, and the
software is useless without it.

But thanks for asking, and I’m touched to see the Newton sites you
mention below. We just had to close our development offices due to the
economy,
Best regards,

Hi Karl,

Thanks for the suggestion about modifying the code, but as the original
developer I could do that myself if I thought it made sense :-)

The application could be done on a PocketPC very nicely...we even did a
prototype a couple of years ago, but our partners in the venture didn’t
want to invest more money to make it a product. The issue today is that
we had to let the receiver card and transmitters go out of production
when the cash dried up, so it would take a fair chunk of change to
restart production of the hardware, do the software, and get it into
the market ($250-500K, we estimate).
