Good hints but still doesn't address the original question, how can HWR be
adjusted to recognize double "t"s with a single cross? I've got the same
issue with HWR. Writing two separate "t"s just don't cut it although it
does work.

It also helps immensely if you write the lowercase "t" just
like it looks in most fonts, i.e., a backwards "J" with a
crossbar rather than a straight vertical line with a
crossbar.

I've had my first messagepad for little more than a week
now and this method works consistently for me.
