Not trying for a flame-athon, but.. I recognize Paul's efforts. I
admire his skill. Anyone with the courage to seek this driver and to
have come so far needs to get the credit he deserves. How many
developers are there presently writing for us? Earlier someone
mentioned the cost of Leverage. The cost was over $100 in US
currency, yet not more than a handful of posts were about Leverage,
and how many were making the fuss over its cost? Come on people! We
have a guy developing something that Apple abandoned and then
abandoned again. Apple started writing the driver and gave up. Then
gave up on our Newton! Paul's efforts deserve the merit they are due.
If you object to the cost, so be it. Don't buy it. I happen to be on
a budget so tight that I had to move a into smaller one-bedroom
apartment because I couldn't afford it. Nonetheless, I am going to
try and find a way to afford the cost of this driver. I hope Paul
continues to develop it and perfects it. I plan to buy it once the
funds are available. Granted, I thought the price is steep, but he's
the guy making the rules, developing the code and has established his
price. Maybe he'll consider pre-selling his driver at a lower cost
and so garner greater support from us. I hate to say it, but some of
us sound like a bunch of ingrates. We moan and piss when some
developer closes doors, or we can't register our software, etc. What
happened to supporting our developers? I don't see any new products
being developed and sold at our Mac Warehouse or Apple Store for us.
Face it, the only reason its not a dead platform is because we
recognized a good thing and still believe in it. Paul's belief in the
Newton is an investment that cannot be measured in dollars or time. I
laud the others that seek to keep our Newtons alive for repairs,
screens, etc. Such people are needed and necessary. To cast
aspersions or disparage these people could very well spell the final
death of our green friends.

Paul,
You keep developing. I appreciate what you're doing. I wish I had the
skill to write code. There are so many things I wish I could do with
my Newton, but cannot. Any improvements you make for us is welcomed
in supporting our shrinking platform. They may not be making any more
from Apple, but you're making a difference for those of use who do
appreciate your efforts in keeping this a viable platform by moving
it forward in its storage capacities. Thank you again. Timothy.
