Looks like you're going to have to bite the bullet and buy at least
one of those Newton-PC serial cables with the built-in dongle (check
eBay, there's always a few of them available).
Or buy a dongle and Mac serial cable and a USB-serial adapter for
your Powerbook.
Short of running into another Newton user who has the Ethernet driver
you need, I don't think there's any other way to get the software
onto the Newt.
