Hello to all,
well as is known (from my previous mail) I just got a 3870
a few weeks ago.
I have about 100+ contacts in my newton (with all the
trimings, emails, https, addresses, multiple phone#s) etc,
so I have them in sync with entourage as well as a backup.
Now I want make copies of my contacts from my 2100 to my
iPaq. I know that via IR it is not possible due to the
fact that the newton drivers arent there. I know there is
a program which adds Ir comm stacks to teh newton (called
backtalk) but I am not sure how well it would work with
something new like the iPaq (I am not sure if the guy has
even implemented Ircom which is used by the iPaqs (this
from my ast reading of his web site).
Since I have the contacts in entourage I can export them.
the iPaq came with a cooy of outlook 2002 for the PC (which
I installed on my VPC). Well problem.
1) importing the file, it's tab deliminated *but* every
single contact I have either has some sort of accent aigu,
or grave, ot the norwegian "angstrom a", so these
characters dont translate we into the PC side :(
2) I tried an Excel sheet, no effect outlook wouldnt
recognize it
3) I tried a tab deliminates unicode file, no luck there.
4) been waiting for pocketmac pro to come out, but nothing.
so what can I do to save myself from re-entering 100+
contacts by hand ?
