Hmmm, well? Didn't they?
Back when you had Leaded and Unleaded gas, they made
the gas tank neck smaller to prevent people from
filling their cars with the cheaper Leaded gas.
And now that HDTV is trying to make it's way, once all
the stations go HDTV, your old TV will no longer be
able to get any signals without some kind of
converter!
Planned obsolesence!
