| 16bit PCMCIA has trouble keeping up with 10/100 ethernet I've been told -
| almost all 100Mbps ethernet cards are CardBus.

The former is true. PCMCIA Ethernet hits a wall at around 50Mbps, I
think. The actual figures vary depending on the chipset and and host bus,
but PCMCIA cannot even dream of 100Mbps. FireWire on it would be absurd.

The latter is not true. There are plenty of not-CardBus 100BaseTX NICs out
there. I happen to use several on a regular basis.
