I don't know how true it is, but I currently have a friend who is living
near Paris and he's currently in the area for work related activities, and
he obviously came home and we talked about that. He said that there were
doubts about whether it was an accident or something else. He said that
initially, the authorities were suspiciously quick to announce it was an
accident, and that they're actually still unsure about it... I guess it's
something to follow...

We naturally talked about Sept. 11 events, and he did mention that a couple
of years ago, a plane was hijacked in France, but the hijackers didn't take
over the plane. The pilot led them to believe they had to land to refuel.
Shortly after they landed, the special forces did assault the plane and
finally ended up killing all the hijackers. They found out afterward that
their plan was to crash the plane in the Eiffel tower. That's what my frien=
d
said. This is scary. I'm starting to wonder if living in the Washington
suburbs is a good thing to do...

COBOL /koh'bol/ n.: [COmmon Business-Oriented Language] (Synonymous with
evil.) A weak, verbose, and flabby language used by card wallopers to do
boring mindless things on dinosaur mainframes. Hackers believe that all
COBOL programmers are suits or code grinders, and no self-respecting hacker
will ever admit to having learned the language. Its very name is seldom
uttered without ritual expressions of disgust or horror. One popular one is
Edsger W. Dijkstra's famous observation that "The use of COBOL cripples the
mind; its teaching should, therefore, be regarded as a criminal offense."
