[NTLK] NEWTOURAGE ALERT UPDATE (good news)

From: DelCann Software (announce_at_delcannsoftware.com)
Date: Mon Nov 26 2001 - 18:50:04 EST

Last week you received an email from DelCann Software advising that you
should not use Newtourage 0.5 with Entourage X. This message provides
details about Newtourage 0.5 and migrating to Entourage X.
----------

FOR NEW USERS OF NEWTOURAGE:

- Newtourage 0.5 works fine with Entourage X. Simply launch Newtourage
within the Classic environment. If you are using Ethernet/AppleTalk please
be sure to activate AppleTalk in your Network System Prefs Panel.

FOR USERS OF ENTOURAGE 2001 MIGRATING TO X

- When you move to Entourage X, it imports the contacts database from your
Entourage 2001 Identities. In the process, it assigns new unique identifiers
to each of your contacts. (Confirmed by Microsoft.) Since these ID's don't
match the ones on your Newton, there is a significant potential for
information loss.

Reinitializing will solve the problem. DelCann Software recommends that
users sync with Entourage 2001 prior to upgrading to Entourage X (if
possible) and then reinitialize with Entourage X. The direction of
initialization (Newton to Entourage or Entourage to Newton) is up to the
user. Reinitializing will minimize the potential for data loss. Subsequent
synchronizations will work as normal.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please email John Del Pizzo
at jrd_at_delcannsoftware.com.

You are receiving this email because you previously contacted DelCann
Software about Newtourage. If you do not wish to be informed about
Newtourage in the future, please reply to this email and place remove in the
subject header.
