The original eMate stylus is aluminum and the MP2K is titanium. I
tested them will a multimeter... continuity, the eMate stylus
registered electrical flow, wereas the MP2K stylus did not register
anything. Now both stylus have a brushed look and the eMate stylus
was conductive all over the metal part, the MP2K stylus would not
conduct anywhere --- I thought they might have coated it with some
antistatic or electrical stuff, so I removed the small plastic end
piece and test through both ends (my tip busted -- thats why I have a
eMate stylus) -- still no reading. I even tested the small part under
the plastic end piece and still no reading whatsoever. I looked up
titanium on Britanica and this may be part of the answer...

Pure titanium is ductile, about half as dense as iron and less than
twice as dense as aluminum; it can be polished to a high lustre. The
metal has a very low electrical and thermal conductivity and is
paramagnetic (weakly attracted to a magnet). Two crystal structures
exist: below 883° C (1,621° F), hexagonal-close-packed (alpha); above
883° C, body-centred-cubic (beta). Natural titanium consists of five
stable isotopes: titanium-46 (8.0 percent), titanium-47 (7.3
percent), titanium-48 (73.8 percent), titanium-49 (5.5 percent), and
titanium-50 (5.4 percent).

Also I went to:
http://www.webelements.com/webelements/elements/text/Ti/phys.html
And they the had the electrical resistivity as 40. Aluminum is listed
as 2.65. Nickel is listed as 7. Copper is listed as 6. Gold is listed
as 2.2 Carbon is listed as 1000. Silicon is listed as about
100,000. The smaller the number the less resistive to electricity.

Hope this helps.

Mike
