I fooled around with midix a couple of years ago and I beleive it does
play midi when connected to a midi keyyboard and amp. I think there
was a Mac app to convert the midi files to be downloaded to the Newton.
You then connect the Newton to something like MidiMan (?) and that
connects to the keypboard (I have a Roland) which in turn is
connected to an amp/speakers. This was a while back so I may be wrong,
but I seem to recall that it did work.
